On behalf of the entire team at Simmons Foods, I thank the Benton County community for the support we have received so far for our new chicken processing facility to be built between Gentry and Decatur.
We’ve been fortunate to have the support of Benton County Judge, Barry Moehring; both the Mayor of Gentry, Kevin Johnston, and Mayor of Decatur, Bob Tharp; Superintendents of both Gentry and Decatur School Districts, Terrie Metz and Jeff Gravette (respectively); and members of the Benton County Planning Commission and the Benton County Quorum Court.
In addition, we truly appreciate the out pouring of support we’ve received from our Simmons
employees and the citizens of Benton County. Simmons was founded in Benton County and it has been our home for nearly 70 years, and we are excited to grow our business in Benton County.
One of our values at Simmons is to put people first. We believe this goes beyond our facilities and
includes those in our communities. We will continue to live out this value and keep the community informed as this project progresses. Over the coming months, we will provide updates, when available, and welcome, and encourage, you to follow our progress on our website: www.simmonsfoods.com.
Again, thank you for all of your support. This is an exciting time for Simmons and Benton County, and we couldn’t be more appreciative and proud to call this area home.
Sincerely,
David Jackson, President, Simmons Prepared Foods
